Electromagnetics study guide (Electrical Engineering)

Electromagnetics is the theory behind every wire, antenna and microwave circuit. It begins with charges at rest: Coulomb's law, the electric field, Gauss's law and potential. It continues with charges in steady motion: the magnetic field of a current, Ampere's law and the force on a current-carrying conductor. Then come the two laws that tie the fields together — Faraday's law of induction and Maxwell's displacement current — which predict that an electromagnetic disturbance travels as a wave at a speed set by the medium. The last part turns the wave theory into engineering: transmission lines, characteristic impedance, reflection, standing waves and matching. Every section opens with a quick-revision card, and the worked examples run from easy to exam level.

Structured by the official ETEC subject standard for this topic: every listed topic and learning outcome, with formulas, figures and worked examples. The full sections are available to members in the app.
