STUDY GUIDE · GKU 6
Quality engineering study guide (Industrial Engineering)
Quality engineering makes variation visible and then reduces it. The subject starts with the seven basic tools that organise defect data, moves to control charts that separate common from special cause, and adds capability indices that compare the process spread with the tolerance. Acceptance sampling decides whether a lot is accepted, and gauge studies ask whether the measurement itself is good enough to trust. Design of experiments then changes factors deliberately to find which ones matter, while regression quantifies the effect. The guide closes with the management side: quality dimensions, Six Sigma, total quality management and lean. Every section opens with a quick-revision card, and the worked examples run from easy to exam level.
Structured by the official ETEC subject standard for this topic: every listed topic and learning outcome, with formulas, figures and worked examples. The full sections are available to members in the app.
