Ergonomics and work design study guide (Industrial Engineering)

Ergonomics fits the work to the person rather than the person to the work. The subject starts with information input — what the operator sees and hears, and how quickly it is processed — then with output, the physical work and the forces it requires. Workspace design uses anthropometry so that a control is reachable and a display is visible for the real population, not for an average person who does not exist. The environment adds light, heat and noise, and the second half turns observation into numbers: process charts, time study, work sampling, predetermined time systems and motion study. Every section opens with a quick-revision card, and the worked examples run from easy to exam level.

Structured by the official ETEC subject standard for this topic: every listed topic and learning outcome, with formulas, figures and worked examples. The full sections are available to members in the app.
